Nocturnal Code Chamber
Nocturnal Code Chamber is an immersive 360Β° audiovisual performance exploring the unseen rhythms of the night. Inspired by the adaptive behaviours of bats, spiders, moths, and bioluminescent organisms, this live experience merges natural intelligence and digital code into a sonic ritual β one that pulses, flutters, and echoes in all directions.
Performed inside a full surround projection dome, the piece features real-time visuals created in TouchDesigner and generative soundscapes composed in Ableton Live, driven by custom Python code and MIDI mapping. The system responds live, evolving like an organic entity β unpredictable yet coherent, chaotic yet harmonious.
The performance uses L-systems to simulate growth and branching behaviours, weaving together visuals and sounds that reflect nocturnal life forms navigating their environments. From bat-like echolocation pulses to spider web resonance, from moth-like erratic fluttering to luciferase-inspired light flickers β the experience unfolds as a living code chamber: rhythmic, reactive, alive.
Audience members are invited not just to witness, but to be enveloped β seated within the projection dome, immersed in a field of shifting, bio-inspired geometry and glitch symmetries that vibrate with sound. It is both a meditation and a dance with the unseen.
Listen to the EP
Nocturnal Code Chamber is a 6-track EP exploring hidden architectures of the night. Fragments of sonar, vibration, and fragile flight are reimagined through industrial techno β signals that flicker, fracture, and dissolve into rhythm. The result is a coded landscape where circuits echo nocturnal forces and shadows hum with unseen patterns.
