Eufonic Festival 2025 β 40min Live Audiovisual Performance
Origins is a 40-minute live audiovisual journey tracing the story of oxygen β from its microbial birth to its fragile present. Performed at Eufonic Festival 2025, the piece unfolds across four movements: the primordial emergence of oxygen-producing microbes, the shaping influence of geological and cosmic forces, the accelerating imprint of human activity, and the shadow of a possible ending.
Created with TouchDesigner, Ableton Live, Python code, and custom visual systems, the performance merges generative soundscapes and real-time visuals in a continuous, evolving narrative. The visuals β rendered as fluid, organic textures β respond dynamically to the music, mirroring the growth, turbulence, and collapse in the oxygen cycleβs long history.
The sonic palette shifts from soft, swelling atmospheres to chaotic pulses, echoing the rise of cyanobacteria, the stability of Earthβs early ecosystems, and the disruption of anthropogenic change.
As the performance moves toward its conclusion, the visuals darken, textures break apart, and the soundscape fractures β a meditation on what might follow if balance is lost.
